summer on our peninsula

Lake_Michigan_blog_June_21.jpg

Living in a place like Wisconsin, with very long winters, I don’t want to miss a bit of summer. This past weekend was hot and windy and the air smelled like it does when standing at the base of a waterfall. We live near the water and the winds were bringing the scent of water into our yard. I spent a good part of the weekend in my studio, with the windows wide open.

The area of the painting I was working on was detailed and the combination of warm air and slow work was so enjoyable.

So here’s to summer. May yours be a good one !
