chasing summer light in the studio

Art_studio_after_blog_June_2021.jpg

I love painting in the summer because of the long days of extended light. This weekend after cleaning up the studio after a few long painting sessions I decided to move things around so I could more directly catch the light when working. The top photo was taken before the move and the bottom photo after. The studio is a bit more crowded with the new arrangement but the light is better later in the day.

These paintings are part of a series I’m completing in June and July. I’ll be sharing some of the process here on the blog.
