light reflections on framed art featuring honey bees

Art_under_glass.JPG

One of the extra things I love about having art framed under glass or acrylic in my home is that in the glass reflects light, in a manner similar to a mirror, making the home feel lighter and brighter. I also love how changing light throughout the day and seasons changes the look of the art in interesting ways.

This is a detail image from September Swarms, which was inspired by watching our backyard bees swarm in September. From a beekeeper’s perspective, a swarm in September is not good but it was certainly a wonderful thing to experience. The bees are very docile when they swarm so you can stand amongst them when they moving towards the queen.
