using beach rocks as weights while framing art

Framing_art_in_a_mat.JPG

I finally put this piece, Gathering, from my Flora and Fauna series, in a mat frame this past weekend. I used linen tape to adhere the work to the mat board and briefly weighted the work down after applying the wet linen tape. Paper protects the surface of the mat frame from any residue on the rocks.

This the textures and shapes of the natural world so inform my work, I love seeing it next to rocks, plants, and other things I bring into the studio from the outdoors.
