ethereal light, raindrops, and dragonflies

The gentle raindrops on the pond in this photo, as well as the color and light, serve as inspiration for my Lily Pond series. The scene is so much about light and the color, of course, calls to mind paintings by Monet.

I created my own interpretation of this moment in delicate mixed media works made of layers of paint, graphite and thread. This 9” x 9” work below, with two blue dragonflies would be lovely in a sunlit room or cozy nook.
