a small, temporary studio outside

Our garden flowers, especially the roses, are so beautiful that I couldn’t resist painting outside not long ago. Though plein air painting is not typically part of my art practice, it is a joy to experience sometimes. It forces one to be very focused in the present moment because time matters and conditions change fast. It’s relaxing when things are going well and a good challenge when they are not.

For me, it’s just an occasionally outing, a change of perspective and the opportunity to paint something that is here right now, and very beautiful, before it moves on to another state of being.
