"Alchemy 3" a mixed media work of art by Shan Bryan-Hanson in a white, 13" x 13" frame

Alchemy is a small series of mixed media works I created when many things in life were in transition, including my art. These pieces are a bridge between two bodies of work. Alchemy represents transformation, and is used here in both the literal and metaphorical sense. These pieces were experimental and I played with materials to see what magic they might create if I poured on pools of color, mixed in drops, brushwork, and drips, and let it all dry naturally. The artworks in this intimate collection represent the beauty, joy, and mystery we can’t always see when things start to change.

Alchemy 3 is a one of a kind work of fine art made with water-based paint on layers of different papers. It is mounted in an archival window mat in a white, 13” x 13” frame (art is 8” x 8”).
