Things in my studio: round watercolor paint trays

Stacks of these round paint trays are always within easy reach whenever I’m working in watercolor or gouache. Each tray has some of my most-used color schemes ready to go.

Each well of the tray is, in my mind, an ephemeral painting in its own right and it’s always fun to see what shows up. I use watercolor and gouache for the bottom layers of my one of a kind mixed media pieces as well as the paintings made for my print collection.
