honeycomb pattern embroidered on large artwork

This is a detail image of the stitching on one of my larger pieces. Much of my recent work is inspired by our backyard bees and this work is no exception. I used a thread that has a soft gold sheen to reproduce the honeyed and wax-covered surfaces in the hive.
