Cicadas in the Gallery

I know cicadas aren’t for everyone but I love them. They provide the sound of high summer and represent the shedding of layers in ways that are visceral. Reminders that things transform.

They show up in my art with some regularity. Here are two cicada pieces, one large, one small, currently in the gallery.
