ancient Roman patterns and architectural fragments

Since most of us aren’t traveling much these days, I’m heading back in time this week with images from Rome. These were taken in early 2019, when I taught a course there. The top image was taken at Palazzo Altemps, the second photo is of fragments on the lower facade of Santa Maria in Trastevere, and the bottom photo is from the Capitoline Museum. I love the delicate pattern on this column.
