blue skies on an ancient painting

LIvias_garden.jpg

Livia’s Garden was on my art bucket list and I got to see it in 2019. It is so beautiful in person and my photos don’t do it justice. At some point in my art-making career, I’d love to create my own version of an ancient garden room.

The Garden of Livia, housed at Palazzo Massimo, is such a wonderful example of ancient Roman painting and the colors shimmer in a manner similar to Monet’s Water Lily paintings. So so beautiful!
